We are building a comprehensive data and intelligence platform to enable superior investment decisions and greater confidence allocating capital in venture capital and private equity. We employ rigorous data collection and software-enabled analysis to uncover actionable insights. By developing tools that optimize investor workflows, we help our investment team to back leading venture capital and private equity funds. Financial institutions and family offices trust our platform in delivering actionable insights for private market investing.
We are expanding our development team to shape our proprietary equation platform. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving product development and will collaborate closely with founders, data scientists, and our investment team to ensure our collective vision becomes reality.
The Role
We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic and forward-thinking organization. You will have the opportunity to influence everything from architectural decisions to feature implementations, ensuring our platform is robust, user-friendly, and at the cutting edge of fintech innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Architecture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate strategic visions into tangible software solutions.
- Iteratively design and implement scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems.
- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring smooth integration across platforms.
Technical Ownership & Hands-On Contribution
- Write clean, efficient code in Python and JavaScript.
- Configure and manage relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, automation pipelines, and message queues to maintain system reliability.
- Implement thorough testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end) to ensure code quality and stability. Maintain clear, concise documentation for seamless knowledge sharing and onboarding. Conduct thorough code reviews, championing best practices to maintain high engineering standards.
Platform & Stakeholder Engagement
- Gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback, iteratively refining product features to deliver a superior user experience.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and implement optimizations to meet evolving business needs.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
- Preferred but not required: PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Work Experience
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Hands-on roles as a Developer or Senior Developer.
- Preferred but not required:
- Initial experience leading small teams or projects.
- Prior exposure to fintech or asset management.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in JavaScript (Vue.js/Nuxt.js or similar).
- Strong SQL skills; familiarity with NoSQL databases.
- Proficient in Python
- Preferred but not required:
- Data Engineering (ETL, data warehousing).
- IT Architecture (designing and implementing complex software solutions).
- Cloud computing experience (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker) for deployment.
- Data Science (statistical analysis, machine learning).
Soft Skills & Communication
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, including debugging complex issues.
- English proficiency (verbal and written).
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to both provide and accept constructive feedback.
- Preferred but not required:
- Open-source contributions.
- Industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
